HOW TO ENTER

• Register on the day on the Chapman's Peak side of Hout Bay Beach
• Pay with cash only
• Take you flag and mark your site
• Start building. Building ends at 11.30am
• Relax, eat and drink while the judges make their decision
• Have a laugh at the magic show from 11.30pm and 12.30pm
• Enjoy the prize-giving and raffle draw between 12.30pm and 1.30pm
• Take your children, belongings and litter home with you!
• Leave only your sandy masterpiece and footprints for all to enjoy

RULES

• Adult teams may consist of a max. of 6, minimum of 2, adults.
• Corporate teams may have a max. of 6 team members.
• Family teams may consist of up to, but no more than, 4 adults and 4 children.
• Teen teams may have to 8 teens, age 13 – 18.
• Inter-school teams (max. 6 children with 2 adults)
• Kiddies under 7 and Children age 7 –12, up to 8 children. Teams to have no adult assistance.
• Teams will register and be given a numbered, colour coded flag.
• Teams may start building at 09h30 and must finish by 11h30.
• Upon completion, each team must plant their flag on top of their castle and stay with the castle until it has been judged.
• Judging of completed castles may start from 11h00.
• Judging must be completed by 12h15.
• Prize giving will take place from 12h30 to 13h00.
• Judges will affix a sticker to the flag of each castle once it has been judged.
